April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball athletes to win medals at multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with April Ross in Tokyo to win her third gold medal over the next couple of days. More than that though Ross will be aiming for her very first Olympic gold. Since she's 39 years old she could have her final chance. But she's still convinced of winning top awards. If we do our top or play well I feel like we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. That's why I'm taking some luck too. Ross was born in Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents and sister lived there. The athletic pursuits she pursued continued at Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several different sports. In addition to playing indoor volleyball, she also played basketball and jogged track as a pre-collegiate athlete. But she clearly was an edge over the other players in this latter game. In her high school volleyball career as per her college profile, she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. She was named the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 due to her accomplishments. She also captured the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Ross and Klineman have been performing their roles since 2017. The reality is that Ross played a significant role in the beach volleyball scene before the pairing. She actually won numerous major events with two different partners, one of whom is an icon of volleyball. The pair teamed along with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's trainer. Together with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009 while competing in the international circuit. They eventually won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team as well as Kerri Jennings won the gold. The fate of the matter was that Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They won the beach volleyball bronze at the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. Ross was a student athlete for USC Trojans before the start of her professional career. She played in high school, and even years prior to hitting the beach as a professional. Her time at USC was a memorable one. In 2000 she was named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman Of The Year. She was also named an All-American. In 2000, her Trojans also reached the Final Four. After her sophomore year she suffered a devastating personal tragedy, but earned the distinction of being an All-American. In her two final years with the Trojans, she helped them win consecutive championships. In 2003-2004, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in America according to the Honda Sports Award. Ross, who was a USC international relations student, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross was never able to see her daughter make it to the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother passed away from breast cancer when she was a sophomore at USC. Ross is still awed by her parents who passed away. Margie is a beach lover and in daily life, inspires her.
